As the final days of 2022 wind down we are honored to host you, the leaders of our 20 businesses, on the beautiful island of Kauai. Raise a glass to the achievement of our goal, as stated in March of 2017, in this very same place - $100 million in Junk Removal sales.  What an accomplishment – something we can all be proud of! For us as partners, the pride we feel comes not only from what we achieved, but from how and why we achieved it.  

 

Our People and Our Culture

 

Our people have always been the key to our success.  Our businesses have become ‘leadership incubators’ and we consistently attract leaders by sharing our clearly defined path to advancement and opportunity throughout our screening and onboarding process. Our commitment to those with the dedication and desire to grow professionally has created incredible opportunities for our team members - from field based leadership and operations management to equity partners and franchise owners. We are proud that so many members of our team have thrived, created successful careers, and are building wealth for themselves and their families within our businesses.

How do we grow our leaders?  Learning begins for our Truck Teams on day 1 and continues, providing ongoing skill development to give them the tools they will use to build successful careers. The leaders of our businesses are passionate about developing their teams, and are constantly learning and improving their own skills. Weekly GS&R’s with our internal business coach ensure that they stay on track. Our monthly review meetings allow every leader in our businesses to present their results to their peers, share successes and challenges, and learn from each other.  Finally, our semi-annual retreats give each leader the chance to host their peers, and provide us all with the opportunity to review, create strategies, set goals, make plans, learn and celebrate our successes together. 

We believe in giving back, and our culture of contribution extends throughout our businesses and beyond.  Our charitable foundation focuses on three principles:

Contribute to our People - we provide support for our team members to achieve their goals both professional and personal,  whether with financial support to further education or start a business, coaching to give the skills necessary to succeed, or assistance to achieve a life goal. 

Contribute to our Communities – every franchise is actively involved in local charity and community events.  Giving back to the people and communities that support us is a priority.

Contribute to our World – we recognize that there are many in the world that have not had the opportunities we have.  We contribute to those less fortunate, and those incapable of giving back, by giving financial support and through our volunteer programs that sponsor members of our team to give their time and effort to worthy causes around the world. 

It is evident to everyone in our businesses that culture is of vital importance to us.  We consistently achieve an NPS score of 80+ in our semi-annual internal culture surveys.  Our teams frequently describe our culture as challenging, fun, hardworking and supportive. We are known as a workplace where you meet lifelong friends, learn valuable skills, make good money, and have access to great opportunities for growth and advancement.

Our Businesses

We recognize that in order to succeed, our people need the right tools for each segment of the business.  

Our marketing programs ensure that we dominate every medium where we advertise, and we dedicate significant resources to ensure growth. Our mass media campaigns are decisive contributors to our ever growing market share in each franchise, and are supported by an efficient online presence that ensures that our service is easy to find, easy to understand, and easy to book.  Finally, our legendary ground game, from truck parking to lawn signs to door-to-door marketing, ensures that we are top of mind in all the neighborhoods where we do business.

Our commercial revenue is now growing at a rate that exceeds our residential sales.  We execute our commercial sales efforts to target the verticals that fit with our business model.  Our focus is on maximizing revenue with our existing clients while aggressively pursuing new clients, and we are fearless in satisfying our clients’ needs through innovative and industry leading practices.

Our operations leaders understand that our Truck Teams are responsible for the two most important parts of our business – they bring in all the revenue, and they provide exceptional customer experiences. With this understanding, our operations leaders know that their job is to serve their teams and give them the best chance to succeed. We utilize systems and technology that provide real time data to maximize efficiency and best support our teams in the field.  

 

Our commitment to constant learning, growth, and improvement requires us to seek innovative new ways to run our businesses.  Our Franchisor frequently uses our franchises as test markets for new technology or services, knowing that we execute with excellence, and we are leaders in adopting O2E programs that help us both achieve our common goals. Our commitment to continual improvement extends through our planning, our processes and our thinking.  We challenge ourselves every day with how to streamline our systems in order to grow our businesses and improve the customer experience.

 

Our franchises are consistently recognized as top performers with the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? family.  Other franchises aspire to run businesses like ours, and our fellow Franchise Partners regularly visit our locations to learn our ‘secret sauce’ for success.

Our customers are our ‘rallying cry’ – they are the focal point of everyone in our businesses, and every member of our team is dedicated to providing an exceptional customer experience, every time.  Our customers consistently take the time to write rave online reviews, and our teams are proud to have customer comments shared between franchises. Each team strives to win the ‘Rave of the Month’ award, with the winning franchise enjoying a team celebration to mark their achievement.  Our franchises consistently achieve NPS scores of 85+ - an affirmation of our commitment to our customers.
